Maria had worked as a dental nurse for two years before gaining her degree in Dental Hygiene and Therapy at the University of Portsmouth.
Maria is particularly interested in the topic of mental health. Upon graduating Maria achieved the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy/Oralieve prize for the best research project, which investigated the impact of a Covid-19 restricted educational environment on dental care professional students’ stress levels.
Her approach in dentistry is patient-centred, emphasising patients’ needs and tailoring care to meet individual expectations. She thrives on working collaboratively in a team to deliver high-quality care and empower patients to be in control of their own oral health. Furthermore, she highly believes in preventive dentistry and works alongside patients to embrace this ethos.
In her free time, Maria enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends and enjoys going to the gym to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, Maria is a keen baker and has a small business venture called Bibi Bakes.
